  Jeanne Hendrickson

founder/director

Ballet and the performing arts have been a lifelong passion for Jeanne Hendrickson. Through her work with Dancer.NYC, she continues to support the dance community by offering thoughtfully designed, accessible dancewear, professional costumes, and accessories for dancers of all ages.

Born in New York City and raised on Long Island, Jeanne trained extensively with Andre and Leda Eglevsky, as well as with American Ballet Theatre and summer programs throughout the tri-state area. She performed numerous children’s roles with the Eglevsky Ballet Company, including the coveted role of Clara in The Nutcracker, and went on to appear in full-length classics such as Swan Lake, Coppélia, Sleeping Beauty, and Cinderella.

Jeanne attended Boston University, earning a degree in Finance and Marketing from the School of Management. While at BU, she served as President of the Dance Theatre Group and performed throughout the Boston area. She later built a professional career in sales, marketing, and finance across multiple industries, including work with 501(c)(3) organizations.

Her involvement in dance extends well beyond performance. Jeanne has taught at Boston University, leading Fairfield County ballet schools, and privately for many years. She continues to perform locally, including recent character roles with Connecticut Ballet and as a featured dancer in Curtain Call’s Dancing with the Stars.

A dedicated arts advocate, Jeanne has held numerous leadership roles, including Secretary of the Board of Directors of Connecticut Ballet, President of Friends of Connecticut Ballet, and Treasurer and Chairman of the Board of Greenwich Ballet Academy. She has also been actively involved in supporting dance education through her children’s schools and activities.

Jeanne and her husband are the proud parents of five children, including a daughter who for many years trained at the School of American Ballet and performed with New York City Ballet.
